Severn Tidings
The latest edition of the newsletter from the Severn Estuary Partnership is now available: Severn Tidings Issue 10 - Spring 2008

Severn River Basin District Planning
The Environment Agency & SEP ran an 'Estuary Workshop' to support the River Basin Planning process earlier this month. The report from this workshop is available on the SEP website.

Tidal Energy
Parsons Brinckerhoff are leading the consortia appointed to undertake the Feasibility Study for BERR. A Call for Evidence has been issued with further information available here: Severn Tidal Power Feasibility Study.

Bay of Fundy Tidal Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment
For an interesting look at the Bay of Fundy Tidal Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), go to the Offshore Energy Research site, or contact the SEA consultants via e-mail at oeer@offshoreenergyresearch.ca.

Water Related Recreation Strategy for SW England
The draft strategic plan for water related recreation in South West England is available for download from the project website. The plan has been prepared by the University of Brighton for a steering group comprising British Waterways, Environment Agency, Natural England, South West Regional Development Agency and Sport England. If you wish to comment on the draft plan you can download the consultation paper. This can be returned either via email to: B.Taylor@brighton.ac.uk.

Fisheries in Wales - Future Management Consultation
A proposal for the future management and enforcement of sea fisheries in Welsh waters by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Marine Bill
Information regarding Defra's progress with consultation on a Marine Bill can be found HERE. The SEP Management Group response is attached for information.

Estuary Groups Day
The next meeting of Severn Estuary Groups and the Joint Advisory Committee will be on Monday 27th October in Clevedon.

Severn Estuary Forum
This year's Forum is taking place on 18th - 19th September in Cardiff & Penarth - see Severn Estuary Forum 2008

SEP Staff Changes
Natasha Barker, Severn Estuary Partnership Officer since 2005, will no longer be working full time for SEP from mid-July. She is going to work for WWF-UK as Senior Marine Policy Officer but has been retained by SEP in an advisory capacity for the rest of this year. SEP staff Paul Parker & Susie Gardner are contactable in the SEP office. Recruitment for new positions will be advertised soon.
