Severn River Basin District Planning
The Environment Agency & SEP ran an 'Estuary Workshop' to support
the River Basin Planning process earlier this month. The report from
this workshop is available on the SEP
website.
Tidal Energy
Parsons Brinckerhoff are leading the consortia appointed to undertake
the Feasibility
Study for BERR. A

Water Related Recreation Strategy for SW England
The draft strategic plan for water related recreation in South West
England is available for download from the project
website. The plan has been prepared by the University of Brighton
for a steering group comprising British Waterways, Environment Agency,
Natural England, South West Regional Development Agency and Sport England.
If you wish to comment on the draft plan you can download the consultation
paper. This can be returned either via email to: B.Taylor@brighton.ac.uk.
Fisheries in Wales - Future Management Consultation
A proposal for the
future management and enforcement of sea fisheries in Welsh waters
by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Marine Bill

The next meeting of Severn Estuary Groups and the Joint Advisory Committee
will be on Monday 27th October in Clevedon.

SEP Staff Changes
Natasha Barker, Severn Estuary Partnership Officer since 2005, will
no longer be working full time for SEP from mid-July. She is going to
work for WWF-UK as Senior Marine Policy Officer but has been retained
by SEP in an advisory capacity for the rest of this year. SEP staff
Paul Parker & Susie Gardner are contactable in the SEP office. Recruitment
for new positions will be advertised soon.
