A multipurpose Local AuthorityOrganisational Objectives
The role of the Council is to deal with matters on which, by law, it is
required to make decisions. It is also a forum at which major issues are
debated in an open and public manner .The Council has appointed various
committees to deal with planning, licensing and appeals issues. In addition,
it works closely with the voluntary sector and town and community councils
by means of the Voluntary Sector Joint Liaison Committee and Community Liaison
Committee respectively.Relevant Policies, Projects & Activities An Environmental
and Economic Regeneration Directorate is set up to deal with specific matters.
The Glamorgan Heritage Coast Advisory Group also operates under the auspices
of the Council as one of its specialist advisory sub-committees.
The Vale of Glamorgan also issues a 'Vale Biodiversity Matters ' Newsletter,
in partnership with CCW and Biodiversity Wales. Throught this the Vale Conservation
Officers and the Vale Biodiversity Partnership keep those interested updated
on the Local Biodiversity Action Plan and conservation activities and news.
