The Association of Severn Estuary Relevant Authorities (ASERA) produced
a management scheme in September 2004
through close working with an Advisory Group of user group interests.
Following the production of the Management Scheme, the Management
Group (MG), Working Group (WG) and the Advisory Group (AG) have
been set clear roles for implementation. ASERA is now facilitated
by an Implementation Officer and administrative staff on a part
time basis based at the Severn Estuary Partnership. The management
scheme will be reviewed annually, and in particular, ASERA member
organisations will review their activities and their potential impact
on the designated birds and habitats.
Group Roles
Management Group (MG)
The Management Group meets twice a year to guide the implementation
of the management scheme.
Working Group (WG)
The WG meet inbetween the MG meetings to co-ordinate the work of
implementation staff and provide momentum to the implementation
of the scheme.
Advisory Group (AG)
The Advisory Group now meet annually and are providing essential
information for the development of the management scheme, especially
in relation to land and water based recreation issues. They also
focus on raising awareness of the designated birds and habitats
and relating this information to their respective group members.
